Luzerne McAllister II

Luzerne began his career as a talent management consultant building skills in change management, training, corporate communications, organization design, and culture transformation. At his core, he is a strategist, an organizational change practitioner, and an intrapreneur-turned-entrepreneur. This can be seen in his style of DEI strategy development, which includes ensuring that the strategy is actionable - even when the subject matter is difficult, misunderstood, or foreign to employees. Luzerne’s strategy experience started from his days as a change strategy consultant at Accenture Consulting, where he specialized in change strategy and organization readiness prior to receiving his MBA.

After receiving his MBA, Luzerne joined Accenture's Strategy practice, where he worked on both corporate and talent strategy projects specifically for finance and tech clients. Luzerne continued to build his strategy portfolio after joining PepsiCo as their first-ever Human Capital and Human Resources Strategist. In this role, he built a new HR Strategy for PepsiCo’s Global Chief Human Resources Officer and helped General Managers and Functional Leads build their first people strategies using data and insights provided by the workforce analytics team.

Luzerne’s DEI experience started as a junior in high school where he founded an affinity group for Black male students. Since then, he has founded or run over eight affinity groups or DEI Councils – including at least one at every institution of which he has been a part. As a part of his human capital strategy work at PepsiCo, Luzerne created a Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Strategy for PepsiCo. Subsequently, he was asked to join the Global D&I CoE team reporting directly to PepsiCo’s Chief Diversity Officer. From then on Luzerne continued to build on his previous DEI experience

and improve the Global D&I CoE with a more strategic approach to the work. This resulted in him restructuring and owning the global employee resource group (ERG) governance model at PepsiCo, creating PepsiCo’s Global LGBTQ+ Agenda, and ownership of PepsiCo’s Racial Equality Journey – a $430MM+ investment in the Black community.

As Head of DEI & Culture at PointClickCare, Luzerne worked cross-functionally to complete a DEI and Culture assessment, create a companywide DEI strategy, launch the DEI Council, conduct a Self ID campaign, execute a training program with all executives at the company with the title of Vice President or higher, conduct over 20 individual leader coaching sessions, execute ten heritage month celebrations, complete the company’s first ever Affirmative Action certification process, and launch the company’s first health equity working group.

Luzerne continued to add to his portfolio of skills and experiences by pursuing and earning three certifications from the Institute of Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC). Having already provided independent keynote and facilitation services as Founding Principal of IELI Group, LLC, Luzerne found that leadership and executive coaching are critical to helping leaders and middle managers learn to lead inclusively and empathetically.  Adding executive, career, and leadership coaching to his skillset has had such an unexpectedly profound impact on his DEI work that he repurposed IELI Group and started Curated Crescendo Coaching & Consulting LLC to better focus on the strategic consulting and coaching aspects of his skillset.

Luzerne is a Board Member of the non-profit Reaching Out MBA (ROMBA); a former executive committee member of the NYU Stern Alumni Council; a former Vice Chair of Identity Affinity Alumni Groups for the NYU Stern; and a former Chair of the NYU Stern LGBTQ Alumni Group. Luzerne earned an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business, alumni status at London Business School, and a B.S. from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
